MEDICAL
STUDENTS
FOR
CHOICE

Welcome! We're happy to see you visiting our page, and even more grateful that you are deciding to join a movement that advocates for all, and strives to provide essential reproductive healthcare education to medical students and residents in training. Abortion and birth control are necessities to medical care and should be recognized as standard practices and fundamentals in medical education. Our goals for the year will include hosting events that will allow students to understand the principles of abortion care and family planning services. In turn, our members will have expanded their knowledge base and will be prepared to empower all persons making reproductive health care decisions.

MEET YOUR REPRODUCTIVE HEALTHCARE ADVOCACY TEAM

Hello all! My name is Kaitlyn Eckley. I am from a small, rural community in Pennsylvania. I am interested in pursuing a career in family medicine with a focus on OB care in a rural setting. I am extremely passionate about reproductive healthcare. My background is heavy in healthcare policy advocacy. I am so excited to continue to work to end the stigma that surrounds a basic healthcare need and educate ALL medical students.

Hi folks, my name is Kirra Rivera. I grew up in San Diego, CA, and went to undergrad in Santa Cruz, CA.  I am not settled on a specialty yet, but have always been interested in women's health and reproductive care. I am passionate about ensuring that medical education includes abortion care, regardless of whether students plan to provide this service in their practices, because we will all encounter patients who request this procedure and must be knowledgable and unbiased in our recommendations to those who trust us.

My name is Kimberly Tiffany and I’m from Rochester, NY. I want to join the OB/GYN field when I graduate. MSFC is important to me because as a future provider, I want to give my patients an array of options to ensure the best quality of life for them. I hope no one ever has to lose their bodily autonomy. We as future physicians need to advocate for that.

My name's Emily and I came from Oklahoma City with my husband and our three beautiful dogs.  I like creating stained glass pieces and being outdoors.  My areas of interest are Pathology and Infectious Disease.  To keep it short and sweet, MSFC is important to me because patient autonomy must be respected, and because abortion is health care.

I am Richard Parker Stevens. I was born in Holladay, Utah, and graduated from Southern Utah University in 2017. I am currently undecided on what field of medicine I want to go into, but I am interested in OB/GYN. It was this interest that spurred my decision to join MSFC. My interest in advocating for choice stems from a firm belief in a patient’s right to autonomy. In my spare time between studying and sleeping, I enjoy reading, practicing guitar, creative writing, and spending time with my wife.
