The purpose of MRC is to help students produce research, period.

In general, the more competitive the residency, the more research you need to be a competitive applicant.*

With USMLE becoming P/F, it is anticipated that involvement in research will be a higher priority for residency directors when screening and selecting applicants for residency positions.

MRC meetings will include opportunities for students to find current RVU research and practice oral/poster presentations with feedback. Students who present may be awarded gift cards.

MRC will be working closely with RVU’s research director, Dr. Amanda Brooks, to help identify and implement suitable research projects for students, including bench research.

MRC is collaborating with faculty on initiatives to expand research to include joint projects with Intermountain HealthCare and Utah Tech University.
