Major SOMA Events

Fall Festival - A school-wide event where each club on campus sets up a booth to entertain children and teach them a little something about medicine and health.

OMED - Held around October every year, this event is an opportunity for members from all over the country to get together, form relationships, debate pressing healthcare issues, and grow the Osteopathic profession.

Blood Drives - Throughout the year, we partner with American Red Cross and host blood drives on campus, providing easy ways for students to give back to our community and help in providing

DO Day on the Hill - This event is held around the beginning of the second semester. SOMA members have the opportunity to meet with people of policy-making power and discuss what they are passionate about while learning what it really takes to make a change.

SOMA Spring Convention - This is a wonderful opportunity for the newly elected chapter president and NLO to complete their first task of serving on the AOA house of delegates. All members are encouraged to attend, as well as write resolutions to promote policy change.

SOMA Summer Convention - This convention occurs every summer creating an environment for student doctors to network with other healthcare professionals. In addition to attending the national caucus live and seeing firsthand resolutions being passed or modified.

Walk with Autism - Every year SOMA organizes a booth and serves food at the Walk for Autism which starts and ends on the RVU campus. All proceeds from our sales go towards supporting Autism awareness.
